Orange Bow Knots


Ingredients:
Soften 1 cake yeast in 1 1/4 C warm water
Add:
1/3 C sugar
1/4 C shortening
2 eggs
4 T powdered milk
2 C flour
1 teas salt
1/4 C orange juice
2 Tbsp grated orange rind (important)

Method:
Beat thoroughly. Add 3 more C of flour and mix well. Let stand ten minutes. Knead and place in greased bowl. Let rise until double, covered.
Roll out to 1/2 in thickness. Cut in strips and tie each in a knot. Arrange on a baking sheet and cover. Let rise until double. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
Spread with ORANGE Topping:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp orange juice
1 teas orange rind
1 C powdered sugar
