Raspberry jello pretzel dessert

½ package crushed pretzels 15 ounce
1 cup melted butter or margarine
¼ cup sugar
1 package softened cream cheese 8 ounce
1 large container whipped topping
1 cup sugar
1 cup boiling water
2 packages thawed raspberries 10 ounce
1 package strawberry gelatin 6 ounce
How to Make It
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by lightly applying cooking spray and then set aside until needed.
Crush the pretzels. Melt the butter or margarine and then add the crushed pretzels and ¼ cup sugar and mix together thoroughly.
Press this mixture evenly onto the prepared baking dish evenly to make the pizza crust. Place in preheated oven and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow the crust to completely cool to the touch.
Using a large mixing bowl and an electric mixer, you will add the cream cheese, whipped topping, and the 1 cup sugar. Combine well and then spread this mixture carefully and evenly. Make sure that you leave no open edges or corners for the next layer to leak through, which can cause the pretzels to become soggy rather than staying crunchy and crispy.
After spreading the filling evenly, place the pizza in the refrigerator to chill overnight or for at least 2 to 3 hours before proceeding to the next step. It is essential that you allow each layer of the dessert pizza to chill and rest so that it will set properly in order to uphold the next layer of the pizza.
While the crust and filling are chilling and setting you can prepare the jello topping. Using a large saucepan, bring the cup of water to a boil and then gradually stir in the raspberry gelatin and return to a boil. Stir in the thawed raspberries and then place in the refrigerator to begin setting. You will need to allow the jello to become nearly set before you pour it over the cream cheese filling.
After adding the raspberry jello topping place the desert pizza in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 4 or 5 hours before slicing into wedges and serving to family, friends or other guests.
